About the talk:
This lecture discusses what research on the history of global business can teach us about the future path of globalisation. Business historians have shown that today’s global world was not new. There was a first wave of globalisation in the nineteenth century. Firms were central actors. However, some
of their actions also resulted in the policy reaction which drove de-globalisation for much of the twentieth century.
