Open Knowledge Fellowship 2025 : The Heritage Lab partners with Wikimedia UK

The Heritage Lab and Wikimedia UK are teaming up for the Open Knowledge fellowship in 2025. Through this very exciting collaboration, we hope to bring fresh perspectives, and uncover untold stories related to South Asian collections housed in UK-based GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums). We see this as an opportunity to reshape narratives, spotlight underrepresented histories, and make cultural knowledge more accessible to all.

For our GLAM partners, this marks a step toward a more participatory approach; by engaging with South Asian researchers to develop digital stories, institutions can bring fresh engagement with their collections and ensure these invaluable histories reach a broader audience.
