When Bengali Babus (men) and Bibis (women) stopped to smell the flowers : paintings by Lalu Prasad Shaw

Lalu Prasad Shaw (b.1937) is best known for his paintings of the babus and bibis of Bengal. His work is an ode to the Kalighat paintings and was inspired by the middle-class locals who would visit the photography studio at Kala Bhavan (Shantiniketan)where he used to work.
