DAG Museums in collaboration with The Heritage Lab invites applications from storytellers, researchers, writers and creators working across digital formats & disciplines to produce multimedia reflections on India’s Independence movement.  

This open call coincides with the exhibition, March to Freedom : Reflections on Indian Independence – curated by Dr. Mrinalini Venkateswaran & presented by DAG & Indian Museum Kolkata. The exhibition re-interprets the well-known story of the Indian freedom struggle and anti-colonial movement.

We invite you to unlock and explore the bigger questions raised by the exhibits and the deeper connections between them through using creative and original approaches to storytelling that inspires our readers.

The multimedia stories will be published on The Heritage Lab, and the official DAG exhibition website. Three best stories will win prizes as well.

Your proposal can focus on any of the following themes:

Selected applicants will be notified by : August 21

Last date to submit stories: September 18, 2022

At this stage, we only want to hear your concepts. Selected participants will have 3 weeks to research, write / create their stories.
